Fall TV 2011-2012

In case you missed it, most of the networks announced their fall TV schedules. Some of my favorites (Parenthood, Harry's Law, and Brothers & Sisters) hadn't officially been renewed and I was worried. But two out of three ain't bad.

Parenthood and Harry's Law were renewed. Hurray! They're both relatively new and I was hoping NBC would realize the potential in them both and renew them. B&S had run its course, so I'm kind of okay with it being cancelled. Their season finale, since their fate was still up in the air, was a good closure kind of episode.

Anyway, here is the list of renewals from TVGuide.Com.

I'm not surprised that as of now One Tree Hill is unknown. I'm actually surprised it's still on. I quit watching when Peyton and Lucas left, because, frankly, they were One Tree Hill...

Series Finales

I'm a sucker for 'em. I love seeing old clips from the series and most of the time I cry because I am incredibly sentimental. Boy Meets World is one finale that ALWAYS gets to me. It ended almost eleven years ago and I have seen the finale at least five times, but the last scene when they're with Mr. Feeny gets me every. single. time.

Fall TV

I admit it.  I am a TV junkie.  With the addition of AT&T U-Verse to our household (LOVE, by the way) that means I can record up to FOUR shows at a time.  This does not help my TV addiction, LOL.  I am happy to report that most of the shows I watch, I also with with the hubby.  Here's a look at what I watch each night, along with their premiere dates, just in case you were wondering.  =)

SUNDAY
Desperate Housewives * ABC 8PM * September 26 (don't laugh... it's more of a bonding thing with a girlfriend of mine than a full interest in the show.  it's good for some laughs!)

MONDAY
Weeds * Showtime * August 16 (watch this one online when I can find it since we ended our movie package)
How I Met Your Mother * CBS 7PM * September 20
Castle * ABC 9PM * September 20

TUESDAY
Glee * Fox 7PM * September 21
Raising Hope * Fox 8PM * September 21 (this is a new one... gonna give it a shot... as if I need more to watch, LOL)
Life Unexpected * CW 9PM * September 14
Parenthood * NBC 9PM * September 21

WEDNESDAY
Better With You * ABC 7:30PM * September 22 (also a new one... I love the girl in it that was on Reba)
Modern Family * ABC 8PM * September 22
Cougar Town * ABC 8:30PM * September 22
Law & Order: SVU * NBC 8PM * September 22

THURSDAY
Grey's Anatomy * ABC 8PM * September 23

WEEKEND
Catch up on the DVR.  Ha ha!

Hello, My Name is Jessica

...And American Idol makes me cry.

Not all the time. Just tonight.

And not just once. THREE times.

Once when I was telling J about Didi Benami and how she auditioned because her friend died.

Again when Angela Martin didn't make it through. I loved her the first year she auditioned and I really hope a record label scoops her up. I think it's probably for the best because now she can sign wherever she wants.

And a third time when Andy Garcia made it through.

Yes, I'm an Idol nerd. Oh, and I cannot WAIT for Glee to come back. Tuesdays = total awesomeness in April.

So here's my thoughts on AI9:

1. I think that this year a girl will win it. I think Andy Garcia or Mike Lynch will give the girls a run for their money, but ultimately a girl will take the title.

2. Top Girls:
a. Katie Stevens is a forerunner for the girls. I cannot believe she's 17. Holy mackeral she has amazing control of her voice.
b. Crystal Bowersox and awesome. She is real and I love that she's real. As I said to J tonight, "I luv her. Like, all capitals, lots of U's LUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUV her."
c. I wanted Lacey in last year over Megan Joy.
d. Don't remember Paige Miles
e. Not sure how I feel about Siobhan. I think I wish her spot had been given to Angela Martin.
f. While I'm not a fan of country, I like Haeley's uniqueness, and Simon was right when he said she adapts well -- that's important in this competition.

3. Top Guys:
a. I read an article that said Michael Lynche was DQ'ed 'cause his dad talked to a newspaper about him making the Top 24. but they said he'd be performing next week, so it probably wasn't true. His little girl is precious, and I'm so glad that he made it to the Top 24 and that missing his daughter's birth didn't occur in vain.
b. Andrew Garcia = <3.>
c. I wish Thaddeus had made it though. He was a sweet kid.
d. There were a few guys that I didn't remember, and a few that I figure will be gone very soon (i.e. Tyler Grady and Alex Lambert). The former because we don't know who he is and the latter because even though he has a good voice, he has little to no stage presence. But he's cute, so he may have the teenage girl vote.
e. Even though he is going to be a major diva, I like Todrick Hall.

It's been waaaaay too long

OK, against my better judgement (I really should be getting to bed), I need to post because I've been SUCH a bad blogger.

1. The job in Pattonville I interviewed for ended up being put on hold. I was bummed, but I just keep telling myself that that's just not where I was meant to be. I asked to be put on the sub list and I will go to training next Friday. They also have a permanent sub position open, which I've applied for. It's not a long term sub job -- it's actually having my own classroom -- albeit temporarily -- for the whole year. I wouldn't be guaranteed a position the following year because my contract would only be through the end of the year, but it would get me in the door and if I did well enough, it could secure me a position the following year. Of course, these are all hypotheticals and hopefullys...

2. I've also decided to take the Praxis again in ECE to add on another certification on top of my Elementary 1-6 IPC. This will make me more marketable and hopefully help me find a job until I can start working on my Master's degree in Reading (or Gifted... I haven't decided).

3. Fall TV is awesome. I'm loving new shows like Glee and FlashForward and old ones like Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, and SVU. I've given up on One Tree Hill. It's been going downhill for a while, but with Peyton and Lucas, it STINKS. Anyway,I'm LOVING Glee. I was a little disappointed with the first episode of the fall, but it's gotten a lot better. I mean, seriously... Who wouldn't love a show that makes the Backstreet Boys cool again??

Yes, I'm a Gleek and I'm proud of it!!

I promise to be more diligent in posting from now on. Just in case you wonder about what's going on in my life. =)
